    Climate Protection and Decarbonisation

    Under the terms of the Paris Agreement, 193 signatories have so far committed to restricting global warming to well below 2°C and, if possible, 1.5°C in order to limit the most harmful effects of climate change. This translates to achieving climate neutrality as quickly as possible and aligning the economy and society with sustainable development. Germany is aiming for climate neutrality by 2045, the wider EU by 2050.
