Countess Bettina Bernadotte af Wisborg

President of the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings; Chair of Mentor Germany

Bettina Countess Bernadotte af Wisborg was born in Scherzingen, Switzerland, and holds a degree in business administration with a specialisation in tourism. In 2000, she joined Mainau GmbH, a company founded by her father Lennart Count Bernadotte and owned by the non-profit Lennart-Bernadotte-Stiftung since 1974. Between 2007 and 2025 she served as its managing director.

Her work centred around consistently improving economically, ecologically and socially balanced working practices. The Island of Mainau is known even beyond Germany’s borders for its parks and gardens and its historic castle complex, among other attractions. Every year, some one million guests visit the island to relax, adopt a slower pace and discover the unknown.

Countess Bernadotte has been President of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings since 2008 and Chair of Mentor Germany since 2016.

She was appointed to the German Council for Sustainable Development in January 2026.
