Carolin Boßmeyer

Head of Liaison Office Berlin at Heidelberg Materials AG

Born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, in 1972, Carolin Boßmeyer has lived in Berlin since 1998 and has headed the Liaison Office Berlin for construction materials manufacturer Heidelberg Materials AG since early 2022. She feels privileged to continue to shape the transition to greener energies in an energy- and carbon-intensive company.

Carolin Boßmeyer holds an MA in philosophy, social economics and modern history. Her work has seen her play a role in sustainable development from a corporate perspective for more than 25 years now. Indeed, concurrently to the establishment of the German Council for Sustainable Development at the turn of the millennium, she was helping to grow econsense, the Forum for Sustainable Development of German Business. Alongside holding numerous positions in trade associations, including the Federation of Germany Industries (BDI) and the Federation of the German Construction Industry, and in the field of management consulting (for Joschka Fischer & Company), she has also dedicated herself to the protection and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services as managing director of the Biodiversity in Good Company corporate platform initiative.

Carolin Boßmeyer was appointed to the German Council for Sustainable Development in January 2026.
